Auckland tournaments = done and dusted!

We had another amazing week of tennis here this week - this time it was the men who invaded Auckland (mostly Spaniards).

It was another trying week with rain but we mostly escaped without too much hassle. David Ferrer and Fernando Verdasco both had to play quarterfinal and semifinal matches on the same day when rain would not leave us alone on Thursday night but overall not much harm done.

The Heineken Open had such a different vibe compared with the ASB Classic. From the players to my dealings with the WTA and ATP - just so many differences.

Some highlights from an amazing two weeks:

  • Asking questions to Fernando Verdasco in press conferences and making eye contact.
  • Watching Benoit Paire play. Try to watch him, and soon.
  • Flavia Pennetta in press conferences - lovely!
  • The ASB Classic videos - please check them out!
  • David Ferrer's reaction on championship point.
  • Being in media conferences!
  • Interviewing Judy Murray, Dominik Hrbaty and Justin Gimelstob
  • BEING PAID TO WATCH TENNIS!
Am heading to Melbourne tomorrow so can't wait to resume tennis fandom!
